This is just a quick look I did with the creme de couture palette. I already had worn a simple natural day look for the day, and that's probably why you see eyeshadow all over my lashes. Overall I love the consistency of the shadows. I can't complain about the color payoff. The shadows are smooth and have a lot to offer as you can come up with an array of looks with all these colors. The pastels really create a dreamy look to the eyes. This purple combination worked very well with my caramel complexion. Would have looked even better in a complete look with some lashes! I can't wait to create more looks and post them for all to see. Stay tuned!
I loved the bright colors when I first saw this palette. I figured I could probably get the same colors from maybe coastal scents or bh cosmetics. But then I saw the blushes and was like I need that purple! I'm obsessed with people maquillage. So I caved and bought. Now I haven't tried this palette on my face yet. The colors are gorgeous in the palette but appear a little chalky on my skin tone. I have seen tutorials of other bloggers with the colors on and they looked gorgeous! But they were all white girls so maybe it might look different on me. Haha. I will try the palette in the a.m. and see how it goes. Over all the colors are smooth. No shimmers, only mattes including the blushes. There might be slight shimmer in some but not so much to make a difference unless you're picky like that and needed a microscope to find out if there's shimmer. :p. Take a look for yourself and tell me what you think! Toodles!
Oh yeah and that blush sweet ambrosia...Yeah um. No. I'm not keeping that. It will look bat s**t crazy on my cheeks. Not trying to look like a carcass here. I'm selling it. Whoever wants It let me know Lol. That color is a no go for darker skin tones fyi.
I first have to say , that I'm a sucker for matte lipsticks! I have pretty full lips, so I have to be careful about the finish in many bold lipstick colors. They all are sisters to the classic Ruby Woo. The colors I decided to pick up are : Relentlessly red, All fired up, All about drama, Flat out fabulous, and Runway hit.
As most matte lipsticks tend to be a bit drying, it's always best to exfoliate and moisturize. My method is to exfoliate with my toothbrush in the morning while I brush my teeth. Then I LOAD on Smith's Rosebud Salve. Some people blot their lips of excess balm, I don't. I keep it on and apply the matte lipstick. The first application is not going to be pigmented but it will look more like a stain (hint hint). After the first application I blot, then I continue with two more applications while blotting in between each application. This method still gives that matte finish, keeping the balm on gets the perfect amount of balm stuck on the actual lipstick providing a smoother application with no tugging and pulling. My favorite colors have to be flat out fabulous, relentlessly red, runway hit and all about drama. These colors look WONDERFUL on women of color. Dangerous also is a great color for women of color as well. I just didn't choose that one. Since all the retro mattes will soon become a part of the permanent MAC lipstick line, I probably could have waited for these. .. but for what? :P
I've been eyeing this set for a while. I always wondered about what the hype was about with this thing. I still have yet to find out, but when I do I will definitely share its wonders with the world! (It's supposed to work wonders right? Hmm....). The set retails for $169 and it comes with a ; deep pore mia 2, universal voltage plink charger, deep pore brush head, a 6oz. Deep Pore daily cleanser and a 2oz. Detoxifying clay mask with a protective travel case. I chose this set because I have trouble spots on my skin from time to time. I also have extremely oily skin and this allegedly helps to reduce the size of your pores. I will definitely give it a go and let you know what I think of it! Does anyone own one? What are your thoughts?
NYX Rouge cream blush is a perfect alternative to any prestige cosmetic cream blush. My moto is to find any and all dupes in NYX. I don't use MAC lip pencils unless it's exclusive to MAC and can't be found elsehwere. Face powders, lipstick, you name it! NYX is my go to drugstore brand. These blushes are very creamy and EXTREMELY PIGMENTED. The red pink color is called red cheeks and the soft orange color is called, welp, orange. They apply easily and aren't sticky or tacky. They would be used great as a base for a powder blush as well. The orange color is very well suited on women of color. Being that I love bright colors the red cheeks color is perfect for me! I must warn that it is so easy to over kill this color. It's that serious! I haven't tried these bushes on for a full day, so I can't comment on staying power. From the looks of it, I'm pretty hopeful it will go above and beyond for what is worth.
